Charles motioned me over to the west wall of the Beverly Heights parking lot to give me reason to commiserate with the person who had left his/her bike shoes on the wall and possibly left without knowing what he/she would be missing for the next ride.  If these are yours, go get them SOON.

A fellow rider heading into his eighth decade, Charles was born on the Osage Indian Reservation in Oklahoma.  During his youth, his family moved a lot, but he graduated from high school at the Colorado Academy here in Denver.  That was a great start because he eventually went to college in Middlebury, Vermont, graduating with a degree in political science and became a lawyer and a businessman in oil and gas.  He has biked his whole life- including across the Himalayas. He also has has done some bicycle sightseeing in Australia and New Zealand and in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco. He has plans to cycle in Thailand next.

His son, Frazier, recently broke 30 minutes on Lookout.  Frazier specializes in commercial real estate and now that he is back from a stint in Sun Valley, he hopes to start his own business in that same field. His first bicycle ride was an attempt to finish the Triple Bypass at seven years old on a mountain bike.  ….big aspirations at times can reap big results….

They have cycled together in the Dolomites, the French Alps and through Turin, Italy.
