Thirty eight year old Michael was reveling in the good weather for cycling on this leap year day.  His early years were spent in cloudy old Chicago, but he has been in sunny Colorado for 13 years now. He had the advantage of having some of his extended family in Colorado before he moved here. His Great Uncle, Dr. Lou Orzlek, was a dentist in Denver who rode his bicycle to work every day, commuting from south Denver to downtown.  Great Uncle Lou is now 85 years old and retired, but he probably has some stories about cycling in Denver many years ago.

Michael went to college at the University of Iowa and now works in commercial banking.  With the Iowa roots, he proudly says that he has ridden the Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa, better known as RAGBRAI.  Michael does not race too much, but when he does, he enjoys the Ned Gravel Race.
