I had to turn around to talk to Libby because she was pushing her bike toward the top of the climb on Lookout with her canine buddy, Yeti, anxiously pulling at the end of the leash. This duo did not look to be the usual cycling companions riding up the mountain- and they were not.

Libby and Yeti, her Siberian Husky, had traveled to Colorado in a car from Iron Mountain, Michigan in March, but the car gave up the ghost here in Golden.  So they hung around Golden and worked a bit before developing a new plan.  Now they are headed to Gold Beach, Oregon and Yeti was looking forward to the lower mountain temperatures off to the west.

Yep, this was a unique situation and I hope to follow Libby and Yeti’s adventure heading west to the coast.
