Noel is originally from Columbo, Sri Lanka.  He studied chemical engineering at M.I.T. in Cambridge, MA.  He now works for Orica and lives close to downtown Golden.

On this Sunday, he was running Lookout, but he has climbed to the top of Mount Evans 45 times on his bicycle.  He is fit as a fiddle for a 63 year old athlete.  Her says that his exercise “keeps his pipes clean”.

Noel has ridden Ride the Rockies and completed the Triple Bypass six times, but his eyes really lit up when discussing the col de la Faucille outside Geneva, Switzerland.  He said that it is a 10K ride of about 6%- 7% grade that pitches unto 10% in places.  Noel visits the area just about every year with his job staying on the France side of the border, bringing his Ritchie Breakaway to also get him up the la Barillette before attending United Nations meetings.

He is also a very accomplished photographer.  He showed me some of his incredible photographs that he keeps on his phone.

Thanks much, Noel, for your time, your patience and your generosity.
