I have good news for all the Lookout Mountain cyclists who love country music.  We may not have a resident country and western singing duo, but Max and Brittany Flinn from Houston have now cycled the mountain after a professional stop in Denver.  If they make it back here for the one of the triathlons in Boulder this summer and fit in a performance, I will let you know.

Of course you may find their work on the internet (I recommend their version of the Emmylou Harris song “One of These Days”).  They love to tour and are in their fourth summer of making stops around the American West.  They will be performing in Palmer, Alaska in a few weeks.

They also enjoy competing in triathlons.  Max specializes in the half Ironman distances and has finished the Kerrville Half Ironman Triathlon that features the countryside of the Texas Hill Country as a setting.  Brittney has completed an Olympic distance event.

Their schedules during the rest of the year do not match up quite as well, since Brittney teaches math during the school year and Max makes trips to Nashville as a song writer and performs in the evening.

If you have a chance to visit with them personally, you will enjoy their low key approach to life and their relaxed conversation.  They are an enjoyable combination of “Minnesota Nice” and “Slower Paced, Friendly Texan”….and their music plays in your mind for quite a while after the song ends.
