At 72 years old, Ellis is just happy to still be riding Lookout Mountain.  He would have been the rabbit and I the greyhound if it had not been such a slow motion pursuit.  In any case, we were both glad to be outside and alive.

Ellis moved to Colorado at about 19 years old from Washington state after working for Boeing as a mechanic.  More recently, he and his very physically active, still competitive wife are keeping their travel agency up and running.  Washington Park Travel is actually in Golden rather than being located close to Denver’s Washington Park.

As far as favorite rides goes, he really likes the Mickelson Trail out of Deadwood, South Dakota and the 2000′ climb to the top of Constitution Mountain on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands on the Pacific coast.
