It was good to see Janet Feder today. Kristine Schaal was also getting in her laps on the mountain.

I apologize to Jay Grimes that I did not get a picture of him. Jay, a realtor and avid cyclist, is directing his cycling training toward riding Salida to the Sea this summer/ fall. Apparently the course is the western part of the American Trail race from Virginia to Oregon. According to the website- “ The race is a self supported MTN bike race covering over 2,000 miles of bikepacking adventure over the terrain of five states with approximately 147,000 of climbing.” Apparently it is not for the faint of heart or the timid. Jay’s friend Brian Steele was last year’s Ride Director, only finisher, winner and Lantern Rouge, finishing the course in 21 days, 21 hours and 7 minutes. He rode the mostly off-paved-road course at about a 100 mile per day clip. Jay himself has battled through a stress fracture of the knee. Only tough riders need apply.

Thanks for the heads up about the ride, Jay.
