John Wells is the strong, silent type. He was practicing balancing his bike when I spotted him waiting for his Primal teammates. Patience was the key to really learning how accomplished he is. He was mostly an 800 meter runner when he started at the Colorado School of Mines where he is now in the PhD program in chemical engineering. He was injured and took up cycling. Within two years (2016) he had garnered a collegiate national championship in the time trial in Ashville and realized just might have a future as a competitive cyclist. As a Primal team member he competed in the pro series in ten races around the country this last year. His PR on Lookout is right about 20:00 which puts him in some pretty elite company….like Ian Blythe who showed up to ride with him a few minutes later….

More to come in this case, I am sure.
