Bruce G. rides his time trial bike up Lookout. He has good reason. He is still a triathlete. The 62 year old from Parker grew up in Saint Louis and attended Rollins College in Florida where he played soccer. He traveled quite a bit with his job in real estate for parent Darden Restaurants which was the parent company for Red Lobster and Olive Garden restaurants. As primarily a runner and biker, in 1983 he had to work on his swimming to realize his real passion. Bruce has completed ten full Ironman Triathlons with a PR of ten hours and thirty minutes. He has also excelled at half Ironman distances. His wife has also completed a couple full Ironman distance races and ‘lots of half Ironman distances’. Their eleven year old daughter specializes in gymnastics so far, but has plenty of good examples to become an endurance athlete in the future. The family moved to Colorado five years ago because Bruce’s brother lives here and ‘it seemed a good location for retirement training’.
